Abstract:
In this work we present the main properties of a meteoroid detected with the
use of all-sky cameras. We determined ballistic coefficient $\alpha$ and
the mass-loss parameter $\beta$ starting from the measured values of the
velocity of a meteoroid by using the least square method (an inverse problem
related to a system of ordinary differential equations). Once the ballistic
coefficient $\alpha$ and the mass-loss parameter $\beta$ for are
determined for a selected sample of fireball events showing noticeable
deceleration $(\frac{V_{f}}{V_{0}}<0.8)$ we are able to determine which of
the meteoroids can produce meteorites on the Earth's surface.
