Joint IMAR-SNSB workgroup (seminar) on "Two- and three-dimensional manifolds"

Summary: This workgroup (seminar) is a spin-off from the main Topology and Differential Geometry seminars at IMAR, and in a sense is a continuation of the workgroup (seminar) on Riemann surfaces. It started in October 2013 as a means to study together a number of flexible topics of common interest at the junction of topological, geometric, and analytic methods applied to the study of surfaces and 3-dimensional manifolds, including both classical results and modern developments. The former are at the level of understanding of graduate students. The latter, some of which are by invited speakers, are presenting recent results, whatever the level. The main goal of this seminar is to bridge these two approaches. While an impetus to start the workgroup was the CNCS-UEFISCDI grant PN-II-RU-TE-2012-3-0492, we aim to continue it indefinitely.
