Nicolae
Popa,
a prominent Romanian classical analyst, turns eighty this year. He
was a member of the Institute of Mathematics and also a Professor at
the University of Bucharest for several decades. He spent his
mathematical life working in various fields such as Functional
Analysis, The Theory of Banach Spaces and Harmonic Analysis. He has
had an important, long lasting influence, in the lives of several
generations of students.
On June 29, 2023, a group of colleagues, friends and former
students, meet at the Institute of Mathematics of the Romanian
Academy in Bucharest to celebrate him.
Those
who love mathematics are all invited.
