chemlambda4 welcome to the soup !             <-prev       next->

      :: let's stop a bit and look what we have until now. The names "application" and "lambda" come from lambda calculus. Have you already noticed the red image from the upper left corner? Is a double spiral (like in DNA) make of two lambda symbols! (click it)

But look further to see some strange facts:

(click and drag the atoms)

(double click to release atom)

(1) A and L are not operations, they are "concrete" molecules.

(2) Moreover L has 1 "in" port (yellow) and 2 "out" ports (blue).

It can't be some graphical representation of an operation.

(3) The FO and FOE (fanouts) are molecules too.

They do nothing by themselves, just sit there.

(4) and finally the ports, even if named "in" and "out", are also atoms!

They are not inputs and outputs of a process.

Differently from the graphs you see in other places, these "molecules"

are not data-flow graphs.

The page is not a representation of space-time.

Take the molecules and turn them as you wish, they don't change.

They change only when involved in chemical reactions.
