In the framework of a five-year research project, financed by FCT-
the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology, one researcher
position at “Investigador Auxiliar” level is available at the Research
Unit “Matemática e Aplicações” of University of Aveiro, beginning Fall
2007.
For this position we seek a highly motivated candidate which will
be able to contribute to the advancement of research activity in
Differential Equations and Variational Analysis within the “Functional
Analysis and Applications Group” of that Research Unit.
The applicants must have at least three years of relevant
postdoctoral research experience and have a good scientific production.
Preference will be given to applicants already with experience
in one
or more of the following areas:
- Differential equations and
inclusions;
- Evolution equations and inclusions;
- Implicit differential
equations and
inclusions;

boundary
value problems;
- Variational methods to boundary value problems;
- Morse
Theory and multiple solutions;
- Calculus of variations and
their
applications to Mechanics and Material Sciences;
- Relaxation and
Young
Measures.
Besides the research work in Differential Equations and
Variational
Analysis, it is expected that the successful applicant will
actively
participate in the Research Unit “Mathematics and Applications”
seminars,
organize advanced lecture series and participate in the
organization of
national and international conferences, eventually supervise PhD and
Master
thesis students, as well as will collaborate with the
Mathematics
Department of University of Aveiro and Research Unit
“Mathematics and
