From the Otopeni (Henri Coanda) airport, one
can take a taxi, or the bus 100 (formerly 783) to the city center.
The bus takes about 45 minutes to Piata Victoriei and Piata Romana,
the stations closest to the institute and Hotel Berthelot (see the map below).
There is one departure every 15-30 minutes from the airport.
Tickets can be bought from the kiosk in the bus station, or by credit card inside the bus, and the price is 5 lei (1 euro).
There is also a train from the airport to Gara de Nord (20 minute-walk to IMAR). The train takes 20 minutes and costs 6.5 lei, and it may be a better option at peak traffic hours.
From the Baneasa (Aurel Vlaicu) airport, which is closer to the city center than Otopeni, you can also take bus 100 to piata Victoriei or piata Romana. To arrive at the bus station you have to exit the airport, and use the pedestrian crossing to get to the other side of the 6-lane road in front of the airport.
