NSF-UEFISCDI Collaboration: Summer School 2025

The summer school is part of an NSF-UEFISCDI collaboration on Fluid Dynamics. It will consist of 5 courses over 8 days on the Mathematics of Partial Differential Equations, as well as round table discussions regarding careers in Mathematics in Romania and in the US.

The courses this year will be taught by Lucian Beznea (IMAR), Alexandru Ionescu (Princeton University), Calin Martin (Babes-Bolyai University), Emilian Parau (University of East Anglia), and Vlad Vicol (New York University), and will consist of 5-6 lectures each. The goal is to offer a broad introduction to some topics of current research interest, such as the main equations of Fluid Dynamics, stability of solutions, steady and travelling solutions, and tools from stochastic analysis and harmonic analysis. The courses will be accessible to advanced undergraduate students, master students, and PhD students.

When and where: Institute of Mathematics of the Romanian Academy (IMAR), June 30-July 8, 2025.

Organizers: Liviu Ignat, Alexandru Ionescu, Delia Ionescu-Kruse, Sergiu Moroianu.
