REGISTRATION DESK.
The conference will take place in the old campus of the ``Ovidius" University, in Bd.\ Mamaia 124. On Monday, September 9, between 10.00 - 20.00, and on Tuesday, September 10, between 9.00 - 12.00, a Reception Desk will be at the disposal of the participants in Room E1, with clear directions provided. The participation fee is 100 Euro, to be paid on arrival, at the Registration Desk. The opening of the meeting is scheduled on Tuesday, September 10, time 9.30.
TRAVEL.
Constanta may be reached by land, by air and by sea. In case you arrive at the ``Kogalniceanu'' airport near Constanta, there are special buses ensuring the transfer to the hotels or to the town center.
The participants to the meeting will be accomodated in Hotel Parc (single 55E/day), Hotel Dacia (single 30E/day) and in a modern student hostel (10E/day in double room). All have a nice view of the Black Sea and are situated in a comfortable 20 minutes walking distance from the conference building. The invited speakers are accomodated in Hotel Parc. In the public transport system from Constanta, the University has the bus stop ``Turda'' and the hotels, the hostel have the bus stop ``Pescarie''. In case you arrive at the Constanta railroad station, the (electric) buses 40, 41 may be used. Tickets are available in front of the station and have to be cancelled in the bus.
For those arriving at the ``Otopeni'' airport near Bucharest, we recommend the use of the train Bucharest - Constanta. From the airport, take the bus 783 to the ``Piata Victoriei'' stop and then, for one station, the metro to the ``Gara de Nord'' railroad station. There are trains to Constanta at 5.30, 6.00, 6.30, 7.00, 7.25, 8.45, 11.05, 13.30, 14.30, 17.20, 19.55, 23.32 and the journey takes less then three hours, depending on the train category. In front of the ``Gara de Nord'' there are special microbuses (look for many similar microbuses) starting every hour in the direction Constanta.
The public transport and the taxis are cheap. It is better to avoid ``unofficial taxis'' (which are not clearly marked or have no meter, etc.).
MISCELLANY.
There are many Exchange Offices: in airports, hotels, rairoad stations, etc. All the known hard currencies are accepted. The big offices will also handle credit cards or other payment instruments. We recommend to change some amount of cash (100 Euro, for instance) directly in the airport.
Citizens from most European countries and USA are not required a visa to enter Romania. If necessary, a visa may be obtained at the border and it would cost about 35E. Please check at the local Romanian consulate whether other conditions apply.
IMPORTANT.
1) If you send us the relevant information on your flight in due time, we shall assist you in Bucharest for the transfer airport - railroad station.
